No matter how much time has passed, no matter how old your children are, you will always be looking back at your newborn baby pictures and reliving the best day ever. As a Oakville Newborn Photographer, I would love to help you every step of the way and make this as simple as possible on you!
Choose from either an in home lifestyle session or a studio session. In home sessions are convenient to stay in the comfort of your home. Show off beautiful details that you put into decorating your nursery and keep younger siblings in their comfort zone. These are unposed and are all about connection and story telling using all natural light from your windows. Your baby can be any age as we are not posing. However, the first 2 weeks is ideal for all those newborn baby details and a sleepy baby.
Studio sessions are posed with the use of soft beautiful strobe lighting to show off the ultimate details of your baby, backdrops, floor drops, posing props, and wraps. If you are looking for artwork on your wall, these will provide you with crisp, clean images to be blown up and displayed with amazing quality. Your baby must be around 5-10 days old for posing and a sleepy baby. An older baby will result in limitations on poses.
Plan ahead for newborn sessions! I keep my schedule light around your due date so that I am flexible for any changes that may arise. I do book ahead so don't wait until last minute!
At Janina Botha Photography the comfort and safety of your family and brand new baby are our highest priority, so our sessions are never rushed. I supply all of the backdrops, headbands, bonnets and props so there is nothing you need to bring. We want you to be able to come in, sit down, and relax while we take care of everything.

Your baby’s safety is my main priority throughout the entire shoot.
Janina will never jeopardize a baby’s safety during a session. I will not pose your baby in a unsafe position or prop. I also want you to relax during the shoot and enjoy it.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
All sessions depends on baby. We allow plenty of time for feeding, diaper changes, and soothing your baby. My sessions are never rushed and therefore I also only book one session a day. The shoot may take up to 4 hours, although most sessions last about 3 hours.
HOW LONG DOES THE NEWBORN SESSION LAST?
Newborn shoots will take place in my studio in Burlington or in the comfort of your own home. You will have access to all my blankets, wraps, buckets, headbands, bonnets and other accessories.
WHERE WILL MY BABY BE PHOTOGRAPHED?
Please book your newborn portrait session before your baby is born if possible. Please plan ahead, and book your newborn photography session three to four months in advance to avoid disappointment.
I understand that your due date is only an estimate. I will reserve your booking around your due date to ensure you have a spot in my calendar. Upon baby’s arrival you can contact me to arrange your actual session date.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A NEWBORN PHOTO SHOOT?
I prefer to photograph newborns within the first 3 weeks after birth. My favourite days are between 5 – 14 days. During this time, babies are easily posed, less fussy and very sleepy. As newborns get older they tend to be more challenging to pose and settle and also develop baby acne and are longer awake and more alert.
However, if you have an older newborn please reach out to me. I do photography older babies and would be happy to accommodate last-minute bookings if my schedule allows it.
